The ongoing construction of the six- storey car park, expected to be finished in 2027, will lead to a substantial reduction in available parking bays at Terminal 1 starting from August 6, 2024. While these upgrades promise long-term benefits by increasing parking capacity and supporting future growth, they come with short-term inconveniences. The construction is part of a larger $5 billion redevelopment plan, which also includes a new terminal and runway expected to be completed by 2031.

This project aims to transform Perth Airport into a major domestic and international hub, adding up to 4.4 million extra passenger movements annually and creating up to 3,000 additional jobs.

Despite the significant improvements these projects will bring, travelers should brace for a period of major upheaval and delays as the construction progresses.
